We’ve been a bit quiet of late on updates from the hill. Your Committee has been very busy trying to secure funding for the clubhouse and snowfencing. The paperwork to change the legal structure of the Unincorporated Association into a Community Interest Company is about to be completed and submitted soon. We are also looking into the purchase of a snowgroomer and all the funding and storage consequences of such a step.

We are working to produce merchandising for the ski club, not just to make you more handsome/pretty with awesome Lowther Hill Ski Club gear, but also to raise cash for your Club.

We are investigating holding a cycling event on Lowther Hill in Autumn 2015 to raise additional funds for the Club. You'll hear more about this soon.

On the hill, we have been doing small jobs at the Engine Hut and designed a new system of emergency stops buttons and fuel tank for the Lowther ski tow.

We are also designing the installation of floodlights at the nursery area in Leadhills Golf Course to ensure we make the most of that slope next season.

On Lowther Hill, a survey of the ground has been carried out for the erection of post & rail snowfencing. Pending on funding, works could start either in November 2015 or Spring 2016.

We are pleased to announce that we are working with snowboard school www.thenorthernmovement.com to provide snowboarding lessons and coaching on our slopes next season. Lowther Hills Ski Club members will be offered a 25% discount on group lessons and 15% on private lessons. Please get in touch with Alasdair for further details.
