Junior members of the Lowther Hills Ski Club came to help their club to get ready for the season, and had fun painting the Engine Hut in a beautiful forest green colour.
(All photos by Ross Dolder) The first group of junior volunteers arrives in Lowther Hill, where children were shown the highest ski slope and rope tow in the south of Scotland, with great views over Wanlockhead and Leadhills, and as far as the southern Highlands, Isle of Arran and Galloway hills.
Looking after their own facilities: junior Ski Club members grab a paint brush and leave their mark on the Engine Hut.
A well deserved rest and a healthy picnic for the wee ones at the temporary clubhouse at the foot of the slope.
The youngest ones and the big boys giving the last coat to the Hut...
... while some of the grown-ups started the long-overdue painting work on the ski tow pylons.
... and it's all smiles at the Engine Hut as installation of emergency stop switches is successfully completed after two weekends' work.
The Lowther Hills Ski Club is run entirely by volunteers. The Club holds work parties to maintain our equipment and run the ski tows. If you would be willing to give us a hand at any work meets please get in touch [email].
